Clarence invitational aka the Mudbowl

The JV team combined with the Freshmen team to finish 4th place in the Clarence Invitational behind 3 powerhouse teams from the Rochester are. It was a decent day, but the park was a mud pit. Lot of slipping, falling and shoes stuck in the mud. The starting line was ankle deep in mud and guck. Noor Noor led the team finishing 7th, Andy McGloin was, 19th, Steven Gioia was 22nd, Ricky Englert 23 and Taylor Wienke rounded out the top 5 in 36th place.
Overall another great day for St. Joe's Cross Country. We are gearing up for the dual meet vs Canisius this Wed. Oct 28 at Deleware Park. Come out and cheer the team to victory!

Alden Invitational

Another strong showing by both the JV and Varsity squads. Both teams finished in 2nd place behind Webster from the Rochester area. I had a massive coaching failure when my camera batteries died and I left my backups at home. So no pictures from the varsity race at this point.
In the JV race Brian "spike" Spillman finished in 2nd place, Ricky Englert was 4th and Steve Gioia was 10, Taylor Weinke 17th and Abas Omar rounded out top five in 23rd place.
The varsity squad was once again led by Quin O'connor in 4th place, Chuck was 13th, Joe Schnitter was 20, Dan Courtney was 26th, Will Burton 28th, Jim Harb was 48th and Sean Majer was 51st.

Manhattan Invite

Manhattan Invitational:

The St. Joe's cross country team invaded The Bronx this past weekend. We camped out on the gym floor of St. Raymond's school in The Bronx. Friday afternoon we had a great run over the course, across the meadow and up the cowpath's followed by a nice pasta dinner. Saturday day morning turned into another great day, we set up our tent and got ready to run. We had teams in four different races, three JV and one Varsity race. The day started off with Mike Rizzo brining home the first medal. St. Joe's took home a total of 9 medals (5 for JV and 4 in the Varsity) out of 25 total runners. Varsity finished 6th overall in their race.
